Our Story - Why we created the Wasp Nest Decoy
Our Story: From a Single Sting to a Global Mission
It started with a moment every parent dreads. Our daughter was playing outside when we heard a scream, I knew she was in pain, bad pain. Turns out she was stung by a paper wasp. As parents, our first instinct was to protect her, but we quickly realized that winning the "wasp war" was easier said than done.
The Problem with Traditional Methods
We tried everything. We used toxic sprays that felt unsafe to use around our kids & pets. We tried generic paper decoys that would either fell apart in the rain - paper wasps would literally build their nests inside the paper hives. Nothing worked—the wasps just kept rebuilding their homes right in the same spots.
The Breakthrough
I decided to stop fighting nature and start studying it. I spent hours examining the structure and behavior of real nests. I realized that wasps weren't being aggressive; they were just protecting their territory.
I designed a prototype that mimicked the exact visual cues wasps use to identify a rival colony. We hung our new decoys in March, and we waited. By May, for the first time in years, our property was completely clear. No new nests. No rebuilding. No stings!
